| I was looking over a lot of the posts lately, and fond as usual, exavid aka Paul, has contributed a great deal. Some contributions useful, some not so much. But overall the title of Senior Guru just doesn't seem to do Justice to the amount of help he has provided to most of us. Not to mention "Senior Guru" smacks of ageism and is not really acceptable in these politically correct times. So after way too much thought, I have whittled the list down to the one I feel best describes his contributions here. "Uber Guru" I think it sums up all that Paul in bodies,, and sounds a lot better then "Mostest, bestest Guru" Which, to be honest, was the only other one I could come up with. So if anyone else has a suggestion that they feel best describes The Man, The Machine, The Guru. Please summit them here and we will ask the Big cheese"Axeman" to do the change. With the approval of exavid of course!!

I don't know, senior guru is hard to beat. It's nothing to do with age and political correcteness can be carried too far, I just hate that term. That was a term born in Soviet times and applied to what the communist bosses decided people should do and think.
Senior guru seems a nice gentle term and Paul and Vic (don't forget Vic is the other Senior guru) obviously discussed this with the wingnut or axeman... sorry wexman when this was thought up. Just my 2 cents...

Hey goldwinger Yeah i must agree with your comments about the number of posts exavid has posted, and the amount of help and advice that he has given to the members. But i feel the title of 'Senior Guru' is ample.
There are a number of other members on this forum who have given help and good advice, and the best they have achieved so far is 'Active Member' or 'Very Active Member' Most members dont have the same amount of time to spend on the forum be it, Family Commitments, Work etc. to show off their talents, so i propose that the titles remain as they are for now.

I could think of plenty of replacement names, but sadly none printable here.
Nah, leave them as Senior Gurus, unless anyone thinks that there is a higher title that should be applied.

| Personally I thought 'guru' was gilding the lilly. A bit overblown.

Senior guru is great. You could hardly be still just called an active member with 5000 posts and most of them tech ones. Little things like that are what atracted me to this forum in the first place, thats what makes it a nice homely place to visit. Keep up the good work Paul. | I think that "senior guru" is classy and it is a title which bears respect. I think it should be retained.

I agree. Besides, the "senior" part shouldn't matter. We all know Paul is old.
But seriously, I sure do appreciate having people like him around. I know it's a labor of love for him...talking about goldwings that is...but he's a stand up kinda guy.

These days I'm becoming more of a sit down kind of guy! I do like puttering around Wings though. It was cool and foggy this morning but it still was a nice day to ride my bike to Harbor Freight and browse. The more I ride this bike the more I like it, and I liked it a lot when I got it. Pretty soon I'll have to shift the bike to the bedroom and the woman who hangs around here to the garage.
...not!

Maybe it would be more appropriate to retain the Senior Guru title for the tech and general forums and then title him somewhat differently for the Fun forum.
Nah, it gets all too complicated, let's just stick with it as it is, after all, I know just who everyone is talking about when they PM me about Him, even though they call him all those funny names.

Hey goldwinger Dont mention $$$$$$$ to exavid. This guy is so well paid for his services on this forum, that poor wingnut had to increase his prices at his garage to help pay this guy.

Indeed Vic and I now receive slightly over twice the pay a mere 'guru' receive. Not as much as a 'forum welcomer' makes, but we have hopes.

Hey exavid You are two months my junior on this great forum, so please dont think that your salary should equal or indeed exceed mine.
Keep up the good work and i may make representation for you to wingnut for an increase in your salary next year.

| Leave me be! Most of my posts are rubbish ala Deer Alerts anyway! The indepth expertise is in Twisty, Vic, and a whole bunch of others, I don't like the whole guru business to start with.
