pidjones wrote: Well, I must admit that I've not been watching the goldwingfacts forum very closely of late. Rudy, I want to wish you the very best in this effort. It looks like a great idea, and to make it universal (more-or-less) to GLs is a pure stroke of genius! I will be very interested when the 1800 version is available, and to see your other "Smart modules". Might even ride down for a face-to-face purchase on one of my company's forced vacations (so they won't have to pay out so much when the layoffs happen) come September.

One little concern, however  - you took advice from this lot?

Just shows how good of a judge of character he is........

Rudy,
One thing I would like to see is a device that will give me 4 way flashers on my GL-1000. I have LED lights all around and have a solid state flasher, but no 4 way flash capability. It would be nice to have for PGR/parades and when having a problem on the side of the road.

Let us know what can be done....
John

Good thinking John.
I have a GL1000 that I can get into as a test fixture if needed.
Let me look at it when I get some time this summer and figure out the best way to accomplish this for you.
The SmartModule could easily handle it but I wonder if we aren't swatting flies with a sledge hammer in this case.  Might be a cheaper way to do it but it should be doable in any case.  You may need to remind me about it by then.
I have been thinking about other things in that area so that could possibly be an easy part of it.

Looking forward to seeing what comes out of that brain. This is the kind of engineering I like.

This would be a nice-to-have for the GL1100 was well.

I didn't know the 1100 didn't have them.  That should let me move it up the list a bit.
Makes sense though now that I think about it.
Thanks guys. :waving:

Thank you sir.  I'll just be glad to make back the multi-thousands I have invested in it at this point.   But that's always the way, isn't it?

I really appreciate your and everyone's support.  The advice and encouragement has been a real help in getting this first run out.

For those that want to see the progress, I stuck a progress picture up in my gallery last night so you can see it as it comes along...

You can see it here.

Awesome idea Rudy! I'm in for one when the 1200 module comes out!! I like the kickstand idea, except I may need an electric shock in the seat if I put it in gear with it down!!

Just find a place to mount a relay and a spare ignition coil and I'm sure we could work something out. :action:

Soon as I get my hands on a 1200 for a day, we should be whistling Dixie.

Thanks guys.  People seem to like them pretty well.

I just added a little extra feature to the product this weekend I call the 'Snorey feature' because Snorebaby requested it.

It provides an additional output for non-SmartLight LEDs like those on our illuminated switches to be able dim themselves at night using SmartLight's photo-detector.
Great idea Snorey. :waving: Thanks.

And Rod, it doesn't look near as good as your avatar does.  :clapper::clapper::clapper:

I'm working on the SmartLight - 1000, 1100 and 1200 series now as well.
