I'm yet to see someone post an identical video shot with a brand-new, properly inflated motorcycle tire to prove that there is or isn't more contact area. As has been stated here a bazillion times before. Nobody is recommending that you should, thus we shouldn't allow the opposing view to be beaten into the ground either. If you wish to, it's your choice, just as if you wish not to. At the first sign of this thread going downhill and turning into a slag-fest, it will get the axe.

Just friendly advice.....Please whatever your opinion is on this subject, We are asking you to keep it friendly or this thread will be gone very quickly which is not what we like to do. The Moderators and Admins are watching this very closely.

As far as I can see, a car tire is not designed for the side wall stress that being on a bike would cause. The contact patch would really only be bigger, compared to a motorcycle tire,in a straight line. The way I ride, I would have the car tire kick out on me. To each there own. James

Kinda bumpy, and sounds like a E-3, but with those, you don't need to corner.....you just run it over! I can just see it now...some industrious soul from the south will be running a 1500 on those in the right lane against Grave Digger on some Ultimate Truck Challenge in the future.

Now why did you have to go and say that MD? I was just about to say that after all the tire troubles I have had this year that may be the ultimate solution for my 1500 Jumbo GUMBO MUDDERS!!!!! Seriously though, I have had sooo many tire issues this year, if I could run one on my 1500 i would sqitch to the car tire in a a heart beat... I have watched Dave0430 walk AWAY from my 1100 on Metz through the corners before and HAVE SEEN first hand how it performs.... Dave???? How a bout some custom work to convert mine to the darkside???? BELIEVE IT OR NOT I am having to go BACK to Sunrise Honda tomorrow because of issues with the E3's everyone told me to put on!!!!! I hate motorcycle tires!~ Last edited on Wed Nov 11th, 2009 01:23 am by AspectOne ____________________ ![]() http://www.aspectcomputing.com |

I did NOT see anything there to indicate that I should NOT use a CT on my motorcycle. The patch still on the pavement is just about the same as a round m/c tire will have on the pavement. Sidewall stress? I did not see that tire changing shape at all. Sorry, but if mud slinging opinions start here, the thread will disappear X 3. I'm watching IF you have not used a CT, then your opinion cannot carry any weight in the "should not" arena. We've been over this before. Keep it clean, or it is gone.
