what a wonderful thought. I'd like to take this time to thank all those that sent out thier prayers during my valve job. I have given away a number of parts to those who have needed them because others have done that for me. With the exception of one person everyone was gracious as I was for the gifts. I thank Steve and the moderators for a great site and am looking forward to meeting some of you all in Sept. Thanks Angela

Special thanks to Scotthohio, who rode that '83 Aspencade 17 hours from Pittsburgh, PA to Augusta, GA for nothing but gas/food money and a good story. This is a great forum full of giving people. Thanks to all and Merry Christmas from South Carolina!

Should we be posting others that aren't on the list, or should we poke a mod if we remember something?

I would like to echo what Steve said.......There are many more stories that I know of personally that could be added to Steve's links. That is not the point! The point is that because of this forum, people here have become family and will help out anybody in a time of need. The love of Goldwings and Goldwingers is what this forum is truely about! Merry Christmas to all!

The one that really came to my mind was Scvmike. I know we remembered him in the other thread but it seemed to fit here too.

There were so many members that this past year of this forum that "stepped up to the plate" it's hard to recall them all.....So many that we said our prayers for and gave our best wishes to.......For my self I will always be grateful for the prayers and good thoughts when we thought my wife had leukemia..Come to find out there her blood iron was extremely low and she is taking medications to correct it, but the thought of the possibility of losing my wife gave me chills...I had to hold a brave face in front of her, but behind her back I was a coward, I cried, I cursed, and was at my wits end .......And then when I thought I was going to have my foot surgery, which is going to happen in mid January 2009, if all else goes well....., or when we had that hurricane Ike tear us up.....Each one of my trails was minor, not in the same class as Cousin Jacks wreck, nor any of the others, but the out pouring of thoughts and prayers got us through each one of them...There were times I thought I had reached the end of my rope, I had no place to turn to except my "extended family", and on my knees, to vent my minor problems......And along with my prayers, and here I found the support I needed.... To all those who on this forum, gave me their support to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I am and will be forever grateful.....I am reminded of a prayer here at this point about a man praying and asked the Lord why at times he had forgotten him???? Why did he think that the Lord had forgotten him?????...Because he had only saw one set of foot prints in the sand....The Lord reminded this man that those single foot prints were when he, the Lord had carried him through the bad times....... To everyone of you I can only offer up my prayers for you, that your road will be an easy one, that the wind, and the sun be in your face for many more safe riding years....And to all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year..... God Bless.... Claude.....

WOW! Look at all the stuff I missed by Haunting just the Technical Forum. Some of the good deeds and troubles I caught a whiff of, by comments from other members but there are whole massive threads I completely was ignorant about by only lurking in the one section. For that I am sorry and I will strive to do better. But this Forum is so Awesome and Huge that the working guy has to limit himself some due to time. For the people that I missed leaving a comment too. I give you a heartfelt I'm Sorry and I promise to try to do better in the coming year. Thanks Steve for the Heads up and I too think this has become an extended Family of Sorts, World Wide. What a concept. Unheard of a few years ago. Way to go guys. Pats on the back all around. Have a GREAT Holiday. Mohawk

Mohawk, I have experienced some of what you just said. When I was off work between January and July of this year, I would cruise every single post. June 30th though put me back in the saddle again and I noticed that it is way harder to get around to "all of it". However, that also brings to mind something that Bagmaster and I have PM'd about. For the board to be as busy as it is, some very important posts concerning the health of a lot of our members seem to have been skipped over. I'm sure none of that was intentional, just as you said, some threads get more scrutiny in a busy life. And the other forums, also being busy, threads will be there and then slide away; then when you do look they are gone from the first page.

Hey, I started the carb sync gauges give-away program, and the now renamed Reading Is Fundamental Rumble {cuz it seems to generate more readers than riders!} For those who are young or outside the US, RIF was a reading program in the '70's and '80's. I would like to put a shout out to thank all those who showed us such hospitality in Calhoun this year, many going beyond the "call of duty" so to speak. Firstly there was ob1quixote ( see post above) who's wife and he, entertained us for a day in Charleston, including feeding and watering a whole bunch of us and giving us a whistlestop tour of the bay area. SB in SC for lending us the 1100 and also putting a roof over our heads as well as giving us a wonderful guided tour of Savannah and surrounding areas. Coyote, for lending us the Valk, his pride and joy, for our use over the Meet & Greet weekend and of course entertaining us at his house with his family and friends. 96 Aspencade and his wife for lending us a GPS to help us navigate our way around the area and taking us under their wing, to ensure our stay at Calhoun was great. All the folks who gave us gifts to bring back as memorabilia of our visit, all too many to mention individually. And a general shout out to everyone who welcomed us so warmly and made our trip so memorable. Thanks guys and gals.
