Do you want an awesome light for the interior of your trunk? If you are like me and love Harbor Freight, go there and purchase item #93549 on sale right now for $3.99, normally a whopping $5.99. This is compact five-LED Head Lamp with an elastic headband. Remove and discard the elastic headband and you will discover that the slots where the elastic headband went through the base of the lamp body, line up perfectly with the existing screws in the trunk lid of your GL1800 (mine is a 2009 GL1800 Airbag, hopefully it will fit yours too). This lamp is very bright, uses 3 AAA batteries (not included), and the lamp is manufactured with a 45 degree wide angle beam, so it shines directly down into the trunk with the lid wide open! I had intended on using velcro, but when I saw the screws lined up, I just knew this was my day and that the 49ers would win the Super Bowl. The lamp can be easily removed from the base by sliding it off. This is fantastic for when you need every inch of trunk space for your luggage. I almost invested a small fortune on a hardwired trunk light, but, at this price and ease of installation, I couldn't resist. It only comes in blue at the local Harbor Freight, but, no one sees it anyway. Oh yes, it also has a strobe feature! Let me know if you want photos of mine.

Still shows as $5.99 for me, but that is still a good deal. Says the light is magnetic? Sounds like a person should have 2 or 3 of these lights around :)

Thanks for the tip, Don.  I'm running a 3 led hockeypuck type, but it shines out towards the prarie (woods)  when the lid is up.    :(   Your idea looks like a better solution.

Big head slap DUH!

THANKS for the post!

I've gone through several types of lights and never liked any of them. I actually have two of these I use for astronomy that have a choice of white or red light. The red will work if you want to keep your night vision while grabbing something and getting back on the road.

Thanks again.
