Dark red and Cherry red are nice but what do you think in particular of Illusion Red, or the Candy red? One of these is too bright a red for me, I think its the candy red. Hard to tell in pictures sometimes.

I'm looking at a 2001 Illusion Red with only 16,000 miles. In the pics it looks a bit like copper and is quite nice. The bike looks in great shape although no ABS. Thanks for your comments.

Hi Hank, I like cool colors of any style for a car. But I have to say for a motorcycle cool aint for me, Its what stands out and doesnt blend in. I am looking to repaint the ol girl of mine to something brighter and more noticable, just for safety.

WHITE, I like white, and any other color. They make them in different colors because not everyone likes black.

Shhhhhhhh!!

No one let Redwing know this

Modern paints have improved greatly

My next bike will be the brightest, reddest

brilliant red one I can find.

But do not let that alligator know this

What he does not know will not hurt him.

There were a couple of years the GL1800 was offered in Orange. I really liked those. Unusual color which also helped you stand out in traffic.

Best for standing out are the yellow ones, but that color on a bike is just not my taste.

HondaHank, I have one of each of them. The 2002 GL-1800 is Illusion Red and sometimes it look orange, purple, burgandy, and red depending on the sunlight. The 2008 is a CSC Cobra Trike and is Candy Red. It stays bright for the most part. The problem is if you want to match the paint for the Illusion Red it is dang near impossible to paint a trailer to match. It is aweful expensive paint and no guarentee you will get it right. Close maybe, but perfect match?.....Well, let's just say I couldn't get it perfect.

The more I look at the Illusion Red the more I like it. The bike I am thinking about buying looks in mint shape. I'm going to post and see if one of our guys in the Phoenix Area can take a look at it for me. At 16,000 miles and an 01' I don't know if sitting around hurts it at all. Thanks.

It does not hurt the 1800 to sit as much as the older bikes with the carbs.   Dump a can of techtron techron, however you spell it in the gas tank and clean the injectors.  Change all the fluids, brake, clutch, coolant and a bit of gear oil in the drive and most likely new tires and you have a Jim dandy bike .

Switches that sit are a pain, they like to be stubborn.   Check that one good for frame cracks and try to find out if it has been inspected , repaired, that kind of thing.

Go to buying a used 1800 on this site , it is in the main heading and read that a couple times, and find out if these things have been done, as too late now, out of warranty.

If I have the serial number I think I can check with Honda Motorcycle re the frame recall. I also want to make sure there is no history re accidents or salvge possibly through Carfax or Autocheck. Just to be safe.

We like WHITE. Easier to be seen and does not show the dust.
