We're in Dodge City tonight. Another 470 miles today. Staying south with all the bad weather north of us for now. It may change tomorrow though as we make the turn for home and head north. Today was very windy again, a sign that there are some strong weather systems out there, but very warm. Arriving in Dodge City the temp was 90. Tornado warnings north of here. Our new Wing is parked under the canopy for the night. I am expecting to run into some rain ( 30% tomorrow) hopefully not too cold though. We'll see! I will play it safe and get home when conditions allow us to. If we need an extra day, so be it. Without John in Arizona this would not have been possible, and memories will remain with us. This forum is great! The bike now has some 17,745 miles on it, about 900 of that since I took control. I was getting 50+ miles per gallon today at 75 MPH, but with the big wind at my back. Don

If it's not too crude to ask, would you mind saying what you paid for it? I'm hoping to include all this data in my valuations database. Thanks very much!

I'm assuming you are coming up through Fargo Moorhead tomorrow on your way home. By the chance you check out the thread in the AM before you leave here's the FM forecast for tomorrow. Partly sunny. Widespread dense fog in the morning. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. Light winds becoming south around 10 mph in the afternoon. Hope you have a safe trip the rest of the way and congratulations again on the new ride.

Also forgot to mention that you may run into a little road construction on Northbound 29 between Fargo and Grand Forks. Shouldn't cause you any problems but just an FYI.

Thanks for the weather updates in the Fargo area. What about on Saturday I can check the thread tomorrow AM before we leave here. We made it to Yankton South Dakota today. Weather was better than expected but still windy. Missed the bad storms in Kansas yesterday.

You should have a wind at your back the entire way home if you are planning on driving straight through. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50's and there is a better chance of rain in the AM in the Fargo Moorhead Area but the rain may persist throughout the day as they are saying 30% chance of rain throughout the afternoon and evening. I would guess as you get farther north towards the border you should see a decreased chance of precip. Hope you have a warm, dry and safe trip the rest of the way.

Forecast up here is for rain and COLD. Temperature dropping to about 5 C (42F) in the afternoon. Still better to get home and jump in a hot shower. Shivering will help at the border, too. Good luck tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the new Canadian.

Congrats! Great color, the fastest you know. That beautiful color somewhat balances those ugly headlights!

We got home last night around 10PM, decided to push it all the way, 46 degrees and drizzly. We spent about an hour and a half at the border. The crossing was quite busy which surprised me. It turns out the trip was a great experience and as with all bike trips many good memories. Now I get a chance to clean up the new bike. We think we'll call him "Clifford" after the "Big Red Dog". Thank you everyone for your comments.
