If anyone is available in the Phoenix/ Scotsdale this week area to see and hear a 2001 GL 1800 I"m interested in, could you reply or PM me. The pics look good so I'm expecting it to be in showroom condition, and very low mileage at 16,000 or so. Nice owner. No ABS or accessories, all stock, which lets me do what I want to it. I know the wings can run like the wind so hopefully the low mileage is not a problem long term. I won't hold you to checking this one out "KIT".

Ahoy Matey! Look what we found here in Scottsdale. An immaculately maintained GL1800. I looked hard and close and could find nary a scratch on it. The seat shows some slight stretch marks, but other than that she looks virgin. CLICK HERE to see the individual pictures These pictures are 7.2 megaPixel. Click on each pix to see it full size. CLICK HERE to see the slide show, pictures reduced to screen size only... And I get to ride part of the way home with Don and his new bike!!!

Aw shucks, why not just put 'em up full size? ![]() On my laptop screen, it looks about 2 or 3 shades of Orange more so than what I saw in real life. It is half way between Burgandy and Fire Engine Red. I would call it Candy Apple Red. The picture above was shot with full Flash to show all the dark shadows from the sun. ![]() The above picture was shot with Full Flash... ![]() The picture above was shot full sun, No Flash.... This picture is close to the real color, which is about 1 shade darker yet. It changes color as you walk around it. Kind of neat....... ![]() The picture above was shot full sun, No Flash ![]() Dash picture shot in full sun and Full Flash

That is a beaut, Don! Riding it home in mid-April? Isn't that chancing it a bit? Weather has been so nice here lately that you just know we're going to get hit again. Why don't you wait til June when I have some time off and I'll come down and ride back with you? And that '84? Tell me again what you were saying about it that time in Albuquerque! At least you can tell the new owner it's fixed.

Never curse a 1200 for a dead stator, while it was getting fixed I had a great time in Albuquerque. Iron butted it home in just over two days. Family barely had time to miss me!! My 1200 is a loyal friend and ready for more. Yesterday the day finally came to make the flight down to Phoenix and pick up my new toy. Today we rode from Phoenix to Albuquerque, one leg of the five that I need to get back to Winnipeg. We arrived around 7 local time. We had to deal with a heavy crosswind all the way from Holbrook to Albuquerque, and the dust was flying. Tomorrow we are headed for Dodge. The bike has been everything I expected and more. I love driving it already. The cruise set switch gave me a bit of trouble and needed to be pushed quite hard, and the speedo needle seemed to stick a bit up around 80 MPH. Both seemed to be better at the end of the day. I sort of expected this because of the lack of use of the bike the last three years or so. The long run home should do the bike a lot of good.It seems to be running fine though, lots of get up and go, no hesitation. We had to deal with a heavy crosswind all the way from Holbrook to Albuquerque, and the dust was flying. Not a lot of fun but you have to take the good with the bad!

Beautiful bike and kudos to John for helping you out. Be safe getting home. I just hope that bike likes the cold north!

Glad to hear everything worked out down there. Now it seems like Mother Nature is going to test your resolve. You can look forward to below normal temps with rain and possibly snow flurries when you get close to the border. I don't suppose that heated clothing was part of the deal? Ride safe and enjoy. Getting home on Monday?
