Ok so I went to Macon Saturday to look at a 81 Interstate and was very disappointed in it's state of shabby flaking rustedness , took my money and ran back to the seller of my new 81 GL 500 !!! 9,3330 miles!!!
Paid him $900.00 bucks and rode it towards my house ,,, but before I got there I had a rear flat tire!!!!, Luckily Elaine was following me ,, I sent her to get a big can of fix-a-flat ( till I can order a new tire ) and filled it and rode home ,  later I went to "Walmarts" for a few things  and really missed all the storage room of a good Goldwing for sure!
I really enjoyed the little bike ,  very light , handles very nicely,it has power all right , you just have to remember its higher up in the rev range but this little motor doesn't mind revving hard , I bet it is  almost as fast as a wing in a quarter mile run.
I will get some pictures up later , it is the maroon color so ,,,,,maybe Redwing is right  about Red being the fastest color!!:)

I have thought about selling the Goldwing and buying another Silverwing. But i know i wont. Enjoy it! They are a classic and I get a lot of commits when i ride her. Oh, she is a Silverwing GL500I Bought her in Knoxville December of 08.payed 1500  for her and worth every penny!

NICE, there are a lot of times I wish I had something less bulky than the wing. Something I could take out for shorter rides, feel the wind in my face and just have fun on.

whenever i road the silverwing it just did not feel right to me the 500 got up & moved when you gave it gas
didn't bother me to take it on the highway but maybe that was just me

Can you swap on the Goldwing bags and trunk to gain the space back ? I agree the truck at least is much smaller .

That silver bike is actually two CBX motors sharing a crank - so it's a V-12.

It exists down here in San Diego.

Very purrrrty piece of garage-art.
