YouTube - NC Drill Team Bike Pickup Demonstration

My wife can do this.  Also if you ride two up , and have a friend with a Trike, go to a open parking lot and teach your wife to stand up on the passenger boards, hold you on the bike, grab the front brake and get the bike stopped.  I taught her to do that too.

Well I certainly appreciated the video.

Had seen it before I got the 'wing when I was just surfing around, and now am very glad I watched it.

He made is look easy, and following his recommendations, it sure was.

If the wife is going to take the bike by pushing you down onto the tank and standing up over you, then please teach her NOT to touch the brake unless absolutely necessary, best if she hits the big red kill switch on the right grip, this will allow the engine to do all the braking safely as she guides the bike to the right and looks for a soft place to let it fall over as it comes to a stop all by itself.
It would be far too easy for a passenger to accidentally use too much front brake in a panic and cause a bigger problem.

Again, only thing the fellow in the vid fails to do is to drop it into gear before righting. This will keep it from rolling out as you bring her up.

I dropped my bike at a drive in a few years ago. There were several other bikes and owners standing around so I just told them the kickstand was in the shop for repair so I park it that way. Went in had a hamburger, came out, stood the bike up and went on my way. I wondered if any of those HD guys had looked under the bike to see if the kick stand was really off the bike.:cheeky1:

BTW - either have the bike in gear or if you have a 1500 Aspy put it in reverse when raising it. Mucho easier.
