I hate vista!
Ya and if you can understand their 24/7 tech support, Good Luck

Looks like y'all are really gonna hate vista a lot more soon.
It looks like my earlier post about license non-renewals was just the tip of the iceberg.
http://www.11alive.com/news/article_news.aspx?storyid=114392
I don't think linux and mac could do a better job of attracting users themselves.
Plus you won't just be able to use the old XP copies if Mickeysoft on your new systems like you could Win200Pro because you won't be able to register your copy.
If it wasn't so serious of a problem I'd probably be laughing... oh well what the hell..

Man, I can't WAIT to inherit all that "unusable" hardware out there.
It will be like the 2k year crisis over again.
I LOVE VISTA!!!!

I just hooked my Hewlett-Packard Printer to my new Hewlett-Packard laptop. It should have been "plug and play" but the Vista "auto-install" program kept over-riding, or conflicting with, the HP Photosmart install disk, and yes, that's the disk it asked me to find and load up!
I finally said "to H.e.double toothpicks with this", and downloaded the 30 line instructions from the HP website. It's basically how to trick Vista into leaving things the heck alone.....so.....another wasted hour....I coulda been ridin'!
Thanks Bill...gotta LOVE this Vista (SH--). Good thing you're playing philanthropist now, or there would be a special, warm place in HELL for you, when you die!
VISTA- I'm so safe, I can't do a damn thing anymore....!

Many people will not move to Mac OS-X or Linux because it "doesn't work like Windows"!

That is also the very reason many also do move. Me included.

Sorry, devans41793, but I don't speak those Hotentot languages; I'm completely incapable of making the required "clicking" sounds.....I'm sticking with Chinese, which is easier?
Oops....sorry....didn't mean to interrupt a fairly intellectual discussion between computer guys who actually KNOW what the hell they are talking about!
As my Brit friends say (or perhaps, request?) I shall "bugger off" now....

tried it, tested it and not overly confident in it's performance....
p.s i have 15 Unbubtu cd's to give away if you want them ( perks of beta testing and working on the software before it was released )

Ubuntu is good but I prefer something that is closer to fully featured right off the disc rather than having to go back and load a bunch of stuff to tailor it to my needs.
I like SimplyMepis but whatever it is, it has to be debian based or I just don't bother with it anymore.

The new Service Pack 1 sped up my computer significantly and made CPU usage go way down at idle.
Hate the nag screens most but not sure I want to turn them off.
Just like when XP came out, everything is still there it's just not where it used to be and peripheral manufacturers need to get out updated drivers.Last edited on Tue Apr 22nd, 2008 01:25 pm by Husker_pick

I have never seen a business that was so much a bully as Microsoft.
I just amazes me how heavy handed they are with their customers. I will NEVER use Vista, if they manage to render XP inoperable I will simply stop using computers or switch to a Mac.
I refuse to let a seller dictate to me how I spend my money. Someone really ought to just shoot Bill Gates, right after they install a Vista Disc in his over paid arse.
