For forum members who have requested and been given new goldwingfacts.com e-mail addresses, here is how to set your account up;

To go to the mail page here to configure your account;

http://www.goldwingfacts.com:2096/

You will most likely get an invalid certificate error message similar to this, which apparently can't be avoided;

Just click to accept/continue and you will be asked to login with your new e-mail address and password. You must enter the whole email address, including the @goldwingfacts.com;

Once you login, first thing you should do is change the temporary password that I gave you;

You can choose to access your email with Horde, Squirrelmail or Roundcube. Most of the members say that Squirrelmail is the easiest to use. Alternatively, you can "Configure Mail Client" through Outlook Express etc. from the same page, or set your account to forward the mail to another email address.
Please note that if you decide to use use the Webmail interface above instead of configuring through Outlook or another desktop e-mail program, you will need to manually delete old messages so that your 2mb of space doesn't get filled up.

--------------------

If you don't yet have a forum e-mail address (example; yourname@goldwingfacts.com) but would like one, send me a PM. You will need to have been a member of the forum for a minimum of six months and have over 50 posts to your name. This precaution is so we get a chance to know you are not a spammer.

Ok, so when I choose continual this is what I get, not just on this computer but the same on my work computer using a totally different browser.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

What you can try:

Diagnose Connection Problems

More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

 • Internet connectivity has been lost.
 • The website is temporarily unavailable.
 • The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
 • The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
 • There might be a typing error in the address.
 • If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds
 1. Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)
 1. Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
 2. Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

Any Suggestions from here???

I'm not sure what ou are wanting to do Bob. Your PM to me said you wanted the notifications and are not getting them, but your post here indicates you don't want the notifications but are not receiving them.

If you want to stop email notifications of replies to watched topics/threads, you need to untick all your watched forums. There is a recent thread on this here;

http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/forum4/84624.html

If however you want the notifications (which is how I understood it from your PM), then Dave's post in this thread is about as good as it gets;

http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/forum5/46177.html

The time-out you are getting when trying to access your goldwingfacts.com email is probably firewall related as it works fine for me several times a day.

Steve,

you say

"I'm not sure what ou are wanting to do Bob. Your PM to me said you wanted the notifications and are not getting them, but your post here indicates you don't want the notifications but are not receiving them."

I kept reading this over and over, it says the same thing are not you just repeating yourself here?  Yes, I want notification and I'm not receiving them. Also I can not log into the goldwing email account as that is what appears above in my post when I try. Confusing?  Well it is to me too. I did shut down my firewall and turned off Trend Micro Services, but still got the same results.

I tried everything on Dave's post even not having any of the three Hotmail, Gmail or Yahoo and solved nothing.

Outside of just starting over - I'm not sure what to do next. I suppose I just live with the way it is.

Sincerely,

Spider Bob

This is the bit that made me think you want to block the notifications Bob;

"Ok, so I can find nothing on AOL or Microsoft Outlook that would either filter out or stop email coming from Goldwingfacts.com?????"

I just logged into my goldwingfacts.com email without problems through the supplied link;

http://www.goldwingfacts.com:2096/

Sorry I have no idea why it won't work for you Bob. If you want to PM me you password for there I will see if I can login as you and if I can I will screengrab the page.

Just want to thank Steve for all his help and his time and on Sunday at that (his own time) not many would have done that.

Thanks Steve
