Hey Berto :waving: Back in 1981, I had a Sharp 40 in the trunk of my Gl1100A (Vetter gear), with a remote H/Set on the H/bars.  Also a Ham International 120chl Multimode at home with a 200watt Linear Amp (boots), Sigma 4 32ft antenna, and would often CQDX the USA on USSB.  Never sent any QSL cards though

Foodman wrote: I used to shot skip when the sun would act up.. I ran a 300 watt boot that would dim the headlights and light up the dash during the day.. I could go into a gas station, key up and light all their fluorescent lights....

I still have a radio in my truck and talk now and then.. The old group around here are all gone..
I never went to side band.. We cut into the loop and went 40 channels down below channel one.. With the power from up in the mountains [Jackson CA] I could talk to San Francisco easy.. I only run a 200 watt boot now, but it still get out...........:action::action::action:
