Nutz.. Too far

Might not be a bad idea to pick up a flooded or 2 as project bikes.
You'd figure the bikes were flooded but possibly salvagable. Treat them like boat motors that get dunked as they do around these parts.

I guess it would be the same as buying a flood damaged auto from an insurance salvage sale...We have a couple of those auction places here in Houston, but you must be a dealer or a register buyer to bid on the cars, trucks, etc.... My former college shop instuctors son bought nothing but wrecked Chevrolet pickup trucks there,one year old or less...  He repaired them and painted them in our booths at the school...Then he sold them at the regular auto auction barns here....Back in the early 90's you bought them with a clear title and could sell them without having to declare them as salvage auto's ..I think that has changed....

But if you read it real close it says that sometimes these bikes are not on their yard, so I take it that they could be any where. Take for example that 1800 that was in water in Texas??? From what they are saying it could be any where in Texas that has a insurance salvage sale yard??????

So if I were bidding on one of these bikes I know I would have too many "breaker" yards to bid against....And I'll also bet you dollars to donuts, that if you did get your hands on one of these bikes, you will have to bid way way more than the prices they list....

just my.02 cents...

Claude

PS.....I sent them an e-mail to their site and here's what I asked them....

First will I only be bidding on these vehicles I want to buy or is that a first come first serve price????

Second if I buy one of these vehicles will it be located at a central location or are these vehicles scattered all across the US??? Creating extra costs for shipping ???

Lets see how they answer because at those prices some of those would be easy to fix......I also looked at several pages of their vehicles and there were all types of bikes there, the ones I don't think I would even consider was the ones that said "thief recovery with engine damage".....

Ok suspicions confirmed...I sent them an e-mail as I outlined in an earlier post...Guess what???? No response !!!!!!! ......

But you and I know that there will be  gullible enough to buy into this scam....OK you want a thief recovery, slightly damaged Gold Wing ???? Then you best bring a bunch of bucks, because you gonna be bidding against bike breakers from all over the US....Where do you think places like Northend cycles gets all of their rebuilders and parts bikes??????

Why would you have to register with a credit card,,,I am the customer,,, I don't even want to register,, I only want to buy. It sounds like they charge you to buy from them!!!! :P:chopper: Or it could be that you register and get all your parts free !!  I'm sure glad my grocery store don't charge me to register for buying what they are selling,,, not a bad idea though,,, you pay me, then I'll sell you stuff, I thinki'll try that
I can DOUBLE my profit,,,yeah,, let's get Mikey........:baffled::baffled::baffled::baffled::baffled:

I need to re-take some pictures, I'm thinking about the next time we go ride, taking the camera and take some pictures of both of ours at some Historical sites, like Jesse James Home, Ponymanr Express Statue ETC. We have ALL this awesome History in our home town, so lets use it !!! Talk to you as soon as I can dial the phone without it hurting somewhere!!! LOL !
