Is there anyone out there that I can snag a photocopy of their owner's manual for a 1983 GL1100i? I just became co-owner of this bike and had it a week before we found where to check the oil. I think a manual would prove very helpful.
Thank you!

| Grab the maintainence manual and the color electrical schematic from there while you're at it. It's a life saver.

I have been empowered!! Thanks to the threads I've read here in the forums, the following has occurred:
1. We downloaded and printed an owner's manual, part number manual, and service manual. (My printer was on overtime.)
2. We had an overheating issue that resembled someone else's http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=47316&forum_id=1 on these pages http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=43495&forum_id=1&jump_to=440324 , so we did the same checks that were recommended. http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/forum1/12579.html We removed the air horn someone installed because it appeared to block the air for the radiator; we changed the radiator cap, we changed the oil, we got a NAPA 101 thermostat instead of the high dollar Honda one, and finally found out it was the water pump... just like in the forum.
3. We found all the part numbers from the handy-dandy parts book, and placed our order for the water pump etc. We took more advice and ordered the timing belts since ours has 14k miles on it and we're tearing into it anyway.
4. We did the sniffer test thinger and the liquid remained blue (thank God).
I just wanted to send out my thanks to those who helped along the way. We have a road to hoe, but it doesn't seem that difficult with you guys helping out. Thank you!

That's the way to do it. That's exactly what this forum is all about!
