I have a hand fabricated swing arm removal tool the works well. As soon as I get mine back together, I will send it to Bagmaster or whoever needs it.

Any one fabricating, two tricks:
First the OD is 40mm
Second, the tangs can be located easily by using the swingarm cap tangs as a guide.

I think you can take care of that. Got enough here to keep me busy.

So does this fir the 1500 steering head nut or not?
I have a riked fork on mine & it VERY hard getting the to nut down.
Was able to get the bottom nut down with  help from friend.
They are not crossed threaded, just VERY tight.

Yes, the steering stem nut removal tool fits the 1500's and the 1800's, nothing else.

Sure would like the "Superman Award"
Wait a minute, I'm an engraver, could make my own!

The nut is really tight & only half way on.
Need to get a new lock washer for it also.

I'm in Greenville. Just wondering if you have the steering socket in your possession? Would like to borrow for a day. Harry Higgins, 864-804-9224

One is out , the other is here. I'll get with you later this week. I'm planning to be in Greenville Saturday as part of the Veterans Day parade. I'll be riding with the PGR group on an old 82 1100.

I have the steering stem tool too if bagmaster wants it in the mix. I bought it for my VTX and I believe the GL1800's and the VTX's are the same.

I've already got 2 of them and there's no demand for them right now. In the 6 months I've had them only 2 members have requested them.

The tangs are .210 inches wide.

Outside diameter if the socket is 1.950 inches.

Inside diameter is 1.650 inches.

1-1/2' schedule 40 steel pipe

OD 1.900"

ID  1.610"

Could a patient person hacksaw and file their own from a scrap of pipe? It wouldn't be hardened but for a one or two time use that shouldn't matter. Are the dimensions all that far off. The .040 ID would be my first concern if it causes it to bind.

I have a lathe and a piece of pipe so I could bore mine out. I'll give it a shot when I have time.
