I have some Clarion stereo equipment that I am tired of storing would trade for some GL 1100 chrome or someone could make me a reasonable offer and it's all theirs.

Thanks

Too bad I don't see a cb in all that. I'd give 50 bucks for a known, good working cb.

Ok guys, I would like to install radio only on my GL1100. Does anyone know of the goodies shown here , what do I need? The pic at top looks like more than just a radio unless I am totally clueless.

Aftermarket would be your best bet. I think the Honda system would require an Aspencade wiring harness in the fairing.

Lots of threads about installing radios. Do a search.

It looks like their is enough equipment in the pic for two radios except for speakers. One will be just radio, the other has intercom and by the look a tape deck, though you don't have to install the tape deck.

Until recently the installation instructions were available and may still be by following the link in my signature.

I would suggest that if you only want to install a radio (no intercom or CB) that you keep your eyes open for a Cyclesound housing and install an automotive or marine radio. There have been several threads on this type of installation and I would suggest they are far easier than going the Clarion route although in my opinion they don't look as good.

For radio only, you need the upper control in the picture, the amplifier, lower right, and the tuner, lower left. If you use radio only, you do not need the control box. I don't see one in the photo. There appears to be a wiring loom for that setup. You would also need an antenna. Oh yes, you will also need the display and speakers in the picture.

I have a clarion system, but I'm not sure what all I can add to it.  I'd love to have one that has a cb and intercom though.

It looks like almost enough parts to make two radios but lacking one amplifier, the speakers and there is no antenna at all.

The speakers of course are on the left. The top item in the next column is a fairing pocket. Below that is not known. Below that is the tuner for the AM/FM radio. Next over at the top is the control unit for the AM/FM radio in a fairing pocket. Below that is another control unit for the AM/FM radio and the intercom not in a pocket. To the right of these two is an indicator that mounts in a shroud just below the windshield. It could be for a CB, the AM/FM radio, a voltmeter or a clock. The unit at the top right appears to be another tuner for the AM/FM radio. At the lower right is the amplifier for the AM/FM radio.

To make an AM/FM radio work from all that you need the control unit, the tuner, the amplifier, the speakers, and the indicator if it’s for AM/FM. There is a cable that connects to the control unit that has an odd three row 34 pin blue connector. The spacing of the pins in the connector is not uniform in that five of the pins are separated from the rest of the pins. There is a control that mounts on the left clutch perch for tuning and muting the radio. I don’t think it is required but makes it easier to change stations while moving.

To add the intercom, CB or a cassette player the interconnect component, as Honda calls it, is needed. It’s a box with six DIN jacks and a few other wires connected to it. It and the CB tuner are needed for a CB setup.

There is no cassette player in the collection. It fits in a fairing pocket and is a unit as large as the control units shown here.

An antenna would be needed also.

I would sell all equipment for $150 plus shipping...the person I got this equipment from supposedly had $500 into it. It is all in excellent condition without any cut wires.

Thanks
