These covers were going as high as 180.00last spring.if you have the chrome trim on your cover attach small cable on under side of cover to mounting screw of chrome trim.no more watching it slide down hwy. at 70 mph.Good luck.

Well I got outbid on the cover that was on e-bay,but as soon as the auction ended he put up another one,They look ok,but I found out he is making them out of resin and they weigh almost 2 1/2 lbs each,I think I am going to keep looking for a factory cover and I will be doing like you suggested,I will be putting some kind of cable or strap on it to keep it from blowing away..I did find a website Cheapcycleparts.com that lists the part but I can't get them to answer the phone to see if they actually have one. Well back to the drawing board...I am STILL looking for a Left side battery cover for an 86 aspencade, any condition

Paul,Thank you so much for all of your help,it is really appreciated. If your friend does have the cover ,I can paypal(if you have an account)the cost of mailing it right away to you.I have just been going crazy trying to fing a cover as the bike just looks wrong without it,and I have found 2 covers for sale here in the states, but I can't afford to pay $400.00 for one right now,the people who do have them think they are worth their weight in gold..actually if you weigh the coverthey probably are about the same..lol Thanks again for your help Tom

The first thing I do when i get a bike is change them out with new ones cheap insurance

As soon as I find a cover the first thing I am going to do is put new grommets in it,the second is to make some kind of a safety cable to hold it in case it falls off, then I am going to contact Rudy here and get a complete set of his tethers for my saddle boxes(bags?) I did that to my trucks battery box covers on my freightliner after someone stole one and freightliner charged me $500 to replace it..a bit of tin and aluminum and they wanted a fortune for it

Well after four wings over 30 yrs I have only lost one side cover. It was due to the grommets I paid 150.00 (USED)for one for my 82 Aspy. That's when I learned the grommet lesson. I have nevered teathered them. Just the saddle bag lids. Every little bit helps though. Good luch in your search .

I just bought an 87 Interstate and find myself in the crowd also looking for a left side cover. My bike is the light gold/champagne color. Just in case someone has it that color otherwise I'll take what I can find and be happy with it I guess! Also in the market for some open face headsets at a reasonable price. Thanks Much!!
