Then you can sell them on eBay...

I saw a POS car with a fake Carbon hood in a local parking lot last week.  They had put some deer alerts on the hood.  No sure if they thought they were the fake stick on hood scoops or what.  Maybe they gave the car some extra 100 RWHP...

Frog spear? Is that a gig?

Do you need to use some kind of spotlight to gig deer and if so does the alert help or hinder? With the head light mounted in the fairing, it would appear you would have to be extremely good to pin point a deer. Or would it be more sporting to do it naked?     :baffled:

Last night at the GWRRA meeting, the subject of deer alerts came up and someone swore by them to the point that the Chapter Director recommended them for everyone's ride.

Someone also said it's law in WV that every vehicle have them. That can't be true. can it?

Well on the serious side of this question.....if you can get all these yahoos.......including this yahoo:) to behave......

I know of no law anywhere that requires deer alerts.....could be.....just never heard of it.

Do they work? I think yes and no.  I used to hunt and would carry an old military whistle and if a deer took off running I would blow the whistle and if I wished that gave me time to aim and shoot it....as 99 percent of the time the deer would stop and look back.   This would not be a good thing on the road if a deer hears a noise like a whistle and stops in the middle of the road just as you come around the corner.

I think deer are pretty much used to cars and motorcycles.......they are not going to be afraid of any noises.........

The only defense I know of is to be careful.......if you are riding in the country and alongside roads that have trees and brush right up to the edge of the road.....you have to just slow down and be watchful.....no deer alert is going to help...especially if during hunting season and dogs are running the deer....

No serious.....I think you the rider are the best deer alert......

BTW I painted mine orange so the deer can see them better.:cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::waving::waving:Kit
