has the stator been checked? What about the cam belts? even at low mileage those aged belts can be bad!

My first experience on a motorcycle was on one of those. First time I took it out I hit a grain wagon. Still hurts to think about it.

My first ride was a Cushman Eagle.  My first accident was when those small tires hit a railroad track at an angle and the scooter tried to follow the rail and I didn't.
