That's why I don't wasit the money on camo. Seems like a dumb thing to do, wear camo, with a bright orange vest over it.
They say deer are color blind, that they see the orange as white. "Hmmmm, I wonder what that big white thing is over there in that tree? Don't think I'll check it out though, it smells like a human that bathed in fox pee"

Why would you want to step on toes, when the hands probably have guns in them?

Down here on private land, we don't have to wear that stinking orange!!!
True story,,,,,
We leased 10,000 acres of good hunting land to farm tomatoes on. My brother and I were both born and raised here in Florida and hunted forever. The farm owners were from New York and like to shoot, they couldn't hunt.
The first morning on the new land while wearing camo, I killed a turkey and good size bar-b-que hog. My brother killed a turkey.
The others in their birght orange saw and killed nothing.
Next morning, they all showed up in new camo!!!!!
And,,,,,,,
still killed nothing!!!!!!!
I just love it when a plan comes together....

Well I wear a gun for a living too. And I love to hunt. And I have had deer stand thirty feet away looking straight at me and not notice me in full orange. As long as I STAND STILL! But you so much as blink and they are gaaaawwnn. So go ahead and poke fun. If you carry one of these things for a few years you learn to just smile at little comments.

Pennsylvania has put an estimated 1,000,000 hunters in the field on the opening day of Buck season for the last several years. The safety orange is a state requirement, and with that many hunters/guns in the woods I don't mind complying... Last edited on Sat Aug 30th, 2008 04:37 am by Shooter

There seems to be a lot of turkeys in South Carolina. I went turkey hunting a couple years ago and never saw a single one. Sure did hear a lot of them, seemed to be one behind every tree. I would not go into the woods during hunting season for nothing. Front line in a firefight is much safer. Kit

| Got shot by a friend of mine a few years ago. We were squirrel hunting and he walked up behind me with a 16 gauge double loaded with number five shot. He fired from about thirty feet. I don't go walking in the woods in July without orange on. It's no fun waiting to see if your lungs are going to fill up with blood.

Those little 9volt camper headlights are pretty good too.
With those you can put them on your head crooked so when you sight down the barrel, the light points at what your looking at.

I went to a safety confrence last year and listened to a man tht was blinded when his own son shot him in the face while bird hunting. He said he and his son were joking that morning about the city slickers and there orange vests.I am no bird hunter but I have a brother-in-law that is that Christmas I bought him some safety shooting glasses
