I looked back and did not see a post on this . would be nice if honda or an aftermarket supplier would manufacture a cover for the gl1800 radio ,

water proofing ok but  sand and dust proofing is not , I constantley have to clean particles from the switches to restore the rocking motion needed to operate .

Now I know these machines are designed for pavement , but some of us still live on dirt roads ,

Did not have this problem on my venture ,voyager or gl1500 ,all had covers

Thanks

I agree that the radios should have a cover as the 1500 had, to keep prying eyes and itchy fingers at bay. I am surprised that they don't come with one.

Ahh yes, it's the little things that they cut. One reason the 1800s disappointed me. My favourite is the step part for the main stand, on all the previous wings it had a pattern etched into it to help with traction when putting it up on the stand. Not the 18s, smooth as a baby's butt. A little moisture and it would be slicker then ice. And the last thing you want is to lose your foot hold  with 800lbs of bike half way up on the stand.

Maybe they saw the photos of the gash created by rough kicksstand parts.
I can't be the first one with that problem.

It was most likely a cost cutting decision not put the radio cover on the 1800's.
