Have it on good authority the only change to the wing until 2010 is a colour range change.

I was looking forward to a possible new 2lt restyled wing incorporating all our comments.

personally i would of bought the older valkyrie interstate if it had a reverse... for the one reason,  "it sits lower to the ground".   the new wings starting in 2010 at the change of the season should be more driver friendly when stopped at a stop sign so us short people do not have to do a balancing act holding up this 1000 pound bike  using just our tip toes.               a 6th speed tranny would be nice and put the CB radio and the CD player as a standard option like the 1500 instead of selling us that rediculous high price honda line CB and CD disk player.             i am sure there going to come out with a new 2000 CC engine just to keep up with or out due every one else thats making them huge motorcycle engines......   come on honda i have 2 bikes,  a road glide for around town and local stuff, then the wing for cross country riding.  help me narrow it down to just one bike for all......

Amen Bunkey I agree. Specially the part about having to pay for this and pay for that just to get what you want. Dont get me wrong...I love this '06 I have and my wife loves it too, but I would have liked to have a few more options but had to settle for the "stripped down" version.

How about going retro like some of te automotive companies have done?

Imagine it. A six cylinder 2000+ cc Wing with the styling and easy machanical access of the early 80's styling. Would make it really easy to bring back the Naked Wing. And it would get rid of the "bug face" of those god awful headlights.

yup,   then again,  a 2000 cc old time valkyrie interstate with a reverse would do good for me, along with all the bells and whistles

Yes, they are going to start putting 1500 trunks on since they have always worked just fine.

Know its new taste, and be loyal, you'll know when, to change that oil.
Taste testing as the miles flow, souring as that acid grows.
And don't flirt with dirt or darkened oil, all the faster your engine will spoil.
If that soured oil turns to paste, new motors cost plenty, what a waste.

Best get to it, with undue haste!

You know, I remember when Honda was taking input to build the new Valkyrie.....all most of us asked was to put the new 1800 motor in it, with reverse, self cancelling turn signals and cruise control....thats it. What did we get.....The Rune. Thank you for listening to your customers Honda.....

Have it on good authority that about the only change on the 2009 Goldwing will be a Tire Pressure Monitoring System and available XM radio. The TPMS indicator will flash when tire pressure is 10 percent low and it will stay on when pressure is 20 percent low. The XM radio will be available on all models that include a GPS navigation system. The colors for this year will be Candy Black Cherry, Pearl Yellow, Metallic Silver, Deep Blue Metallic and Metallic Titanium and will have a MSRP of  $20,000-$25,000.

Just bought a 2008 Navi 8 months ago and have 15K miles (24K KM) on it so far.  I live in Florida so ride year round but by the time I get to Laconia Gap in June I should be over 25K miles (40K KM).  I am also short so have done two things to improve the ride.  Had the seat shavedd one inch which brought me off my toes when standing still.  I had a plastics shop cut that square windshield down to a round one three inches shorter so I now look over the top of it in the rain.  This had a by product of cutting through the wind a lot better such that heavy side winds don't blow me over and the air pocket for the riders is smaller.  Also the larger windshield did not clear in the rain, no matter how much rain X I used, it seemed to have a dead air space form and only cleared at 55 mph and who drives only 55.  With the cut down windshield this problem is much less noticeable.  I try to wash and was the bike often, I even bought Glare, the stuff put on Lamborginis at the factory, for $40 per bottle.  Bike is holding up well but all that Kuryakin Crome is pitting and pealing.  The facotory rep for them told me to use windex because it had a wax content but it didn't help.  I either have to sand and paint it all or buy new and I can tell you it won't be kuryakin.  More as i figure it out.  Merry Xmas

If the new plant opens in Japan it would not make sense to make no changes. If it opens in time for the 2010 model you will see an entirely new model with new tooling you would not tool up for a Japan plant assembly line only to tool up again for a new model.

I believe the plant will be finished in time for a 2010 model. and that Marysville Ohio will product GL1800s thru early summer the 2009 model being made.

It is anyones guess on the new wing. We get no good information here. I am in the states on business and find it interesting that everybody knows the answer but all the answers are different. Someboby is not correct.

I hope the new wing is more narrow, better electronic sound to listen to, faster , lighter and has a suspension that keeps tyre more round and takes road bumps more yes

All that "sounds" (sic) good for most riders.... but for the few of us deaf riders out there, I guess I'll be happy to buy my new wing without all of the sound stuff as standard.  The radio and intercom is fine, but all of the other should remain just as it is, an option, or an option package!

just a humble opinion, from the Huh-What?? crowd!!!!

If I could get only one change to the next 'wing it would be a 6th gear. Don't change the ratios of the rest of the gears just make the 6th a steeper OD.
I don't see why the engine needs to be turning 3000 rpm to go 70 mph on the highway. Add another gear and drop that to 2400-2500.
That's my two cents.
