Whats with the Goldwing antenaes that look like they belong on a pimpmobile? They don't go with the modern body style of the Wing. Chrome fishing pole style antenaes have been out of style for 15 years or so on cars and bikes. Even HD has begun offering short black fiberglass models. Honda could take lesson from BMW. They use unobtrusive black antenaes on their K1200LT touring bikes and a short black fiberglass antenae ontheir R1200rt. Some riders can't put enough chrome on their bikes. That of coarse is their choice but prefer a nice tastfull look. I removed the stainless whips and mounted a short combination one in my trunk.

Nah, a Goldwing is not a Goldwing without the big twin antenaes!

Does it work as well? I have played with my CB a lot, I even bought a tuner for it to tune the antenna to the unit. Maximum range on it is about 7 miles for a clear talk picture, and better within 3 to 5 miles. A motorcycle is not a good platform for the CB to transmit and receive from.......
Would not a short or concealed antenna defeat any functional range of the CB?
Just wondering.......I am just a dumb country redneck......that is what a lady called me the other day I have however figured out engineers know a lot more about this kind of thing than I do......... Kit

| Kit Carson, No, I'm sure it does not work quit as well. However, it works very well for my requirments. I use mine for short distance communication, one mile or less, with riders in our group. It's a 16" flexible antenae mounted inside the trunk with a "splitter" from Sierra Electronics. The one antenae now handles AM, FM and CB although I only use it for CB. I am not suggesting anyone else take this route. I did it as part of a customization project to simplify the looks of my Wing which included the removal of the trunklid/backrest hump and antenaes.
