I bet Honda in Japan does'nt care has long has the bottomline is profit made, yet the poor souls in Marysville will if they have'nt already loose jobs, that suck's! that's why I have a problem with suit's has long has they make money and get perk's all is well when that changes...never mind some clown is only makeing a lousy Twenty bucks a hour on there feet all day etc. I often ask, even my Uncle who refuses to answer what makes them so special that when they retire at a good age not 62 and all that crap, do they deserve a RV and big cash bounuses, when the worker at the plant gets a cheap assed gold plated watch, why do people tend ta think that's cool, I guess I'd rather be like Unc, screw the Union's and the cats on the Low end, "were College Edjumacated" lol

I see alot of good points here....as was stated earlier honda has quit making parts for the older bikes....my question is this....why would you make a bike, car, boat, lawn mower, ect. ect. that will easily last 30 years when maintained, and then stop making parts for them after 10 or 20 years? Is this honda's way of trying to make me buy a new bike? The one i have is just fine.......I don't like it..!. Jeff 84' gl1200 nekked

Redesign the helmet holder release. If you are packed for a trip, You have to unload your trunk to release them. How about connecting them to the trunk release so that when click the trunk release, the helmet holders release also. Some adjustments for the handlebars would be nice. You shouldn't have to buy an aftermarket fork brace. The forks should be braced enough from the factory. 6th Gear, add it.

riding styles certainly influence the coices we make.... bought my first wing in 78 as we were begining to "tour" two up (had two different hacks on it bought the 1200 becuase we needed a bike for four (had a two passenger hack) for years we now both ride our own bike... and so we both wanted single person "touring" without all the gadgets... so hence the HD's

Just some new thoughts after another year of touring including a fair number of miles on an FJR and a lot of reading: My 17 year old daughter toured on my FJR and had no problem. She still hasn't even tried to ride my GL1500. Note" one of the things I learned in the past year is how good the GL's are at keeping the engine heat away from the rider. IMHO: 1. Honda's at the end of the road for "bigger is better". Does ANYONE really want a 1000 pound motorcycle? 2. I still advocate a horizontally opposed 4. cheaper. smaller. lighter. can be just as powerful. maintains the trademark Goldwing engine config. 3. make the bodywork really effective at channeling engine heat to the rider or away from the rider at riders choice 4. make the luggage capacity at least equal to GL1500. Steal the side opening trunk lid idea from Harley. it's just better. make luggage removable. 4. make the electronics friendly to 3rd party add-ons (no $100 cables required) 5. Absolutely offer an electric windshield. 6. Bike, unloaded, should weigh about 650 pounds max. every pound you save in the design of the bike is another potential pound of load capacity. 7. provide for a wide range of rider ergonomics. a low seat option is imperative. If this seems unreasonable to anyone consider that a 1000cc. sport bike with some very costly parts makes 175+ hp and weighs in around 400 pounds and costs about $12,000.

If I won the Powerball Lottery, I'd fly to Japan, and personally oversee the custom design and manufacturing of my Wing. Then I'd FedEx her to Seattle, and take a 7 day-2400 mile ride home.

I would buy a new Goldwing if color was not a problem. The color green on enough money.

Why do we need huige displacement? Have Honda just bring back the 1200 with EFI and modern equipment. And a lower seat hieght. The 12 was (is) the best that there was ( is).

I bought my 83 GL1100 Interstate in 1990 for the same price as it sold new in 83, $4,995. That was an affordable bike !! I am still riding this and I will continue to ride it for probably another 10 years. I will most likely put another 270,000 km's on in that time as I plan on retiring in a couple of years. These machines are built to ride and my only complaint is that Honda has quit making a lot of the parts which are normal maintainence parts. I know they want us to upgrade to the 1800 but I can't see spending $30,000 plus on a bike when I have a cadillac of touring machines that is already paid for Ron aka Big Brown I ride all over Canada and the States for fun !!!
