I would like to be able to prepare a route on my PC and then download it to the NAVI.

Bob,

I agree with you ! Why not be able to go to the PC, and program a very specific route on say...Google maps...or some other program. Then click on a "send to" button to send the planned trip directly to our NAVI systems ?  I can "send" a Google map now to any email or cell phone as a text message, so it ought to be doable.

That would be nice. If Honda ever does add this feature, I hope we can still use it on our existing bikes with OEM NAVI systems. Perhaps replace one of the memory cards in the system presently on the bike.

Hi Bob

I realize that your post is somewhat dated (???), but have you tried Tyre?  It allows you to plan a route, and then save it in various formats.  I regularly use it on my TomTom Rider 2.  The only snag you sometimes pick up, is that Tyre's maps are more up to dat that TomTom's, or vice versa.  Check it out:

jluvs2dive and I were just talking about this yesterday.

You can save a Google map and send it as a route to your gps.

Make your Google map and follow these instructions

http://www.elsewhere.org/journal/gmaptogpx/

Once you have your GPX file install in it in Garmin following this procedure.

http://msstreets.com/2009/09/11/how-to-send-route-points-to-your-garmin-nuvi/

he did a route for a ride that we are doing at Nassir 4, he emailed it to me. I installed it on my 780 Garmin and it worked fine..

Good luck
