I am having trouble reading that drawing, for that regulator, are the 3 lower wires (the double plug ones) going to the lights in speedo G/G and the other BR/BR going to the other lights? So there is a G/BL that goes to lug on center of gauge unit? If my key is on then and my lights working, should the G/G and BR/BR be 12V if they also go to the lights? I may not have tested correct, but I am not getting any volts on any of the 3 wires that I can see. Should I? The engine is cold and not much fuel. Should I be getting some reading on the test meter for volts from those 3 wires to ground?

Between the Green wire and Black / Brown you should read 12V. Between Green and Green / Black you will read 7V. Just a simple 12V in, 7V out. Green is the common ground.

GSMacLean Thanks for the tips. I was going to build one myself, but you did all the work for me.

Next time I have it apart I will have to check that again. I went from each wire to the frame ground and never found a voltage. Maybe I have something else wrong I am not getting the 12V in? I have it back together now, just went for a midnight ride. I did tap an extra wire to the gauges for now, I have an old dash light in series with gauges so they kinda work. I should get about 6V that way. Fuel is reading 3/4 when I filled it tonight and temp normal is just barely over the cold blue area on gauge. I get a 7V regulator I can put it on that wire until I get the cluster out again. Since my Speedo is still not working that may not be so long.

Ok guys... I have to shove my 2 cents worth in because I am an Electronics Engineer.... You can get the 7 volt regulator from Mouser or Digikey... The links are: Mouser- http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ROHM-Semiconductor/BA17807T/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMug9GoBKXZ757Osff9irS4QcmfHQjQG6lQ%3d Running in at $1.27 Digikey - http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/612669-ic-regulator-1a-7v-to22ofp-ba17807t.html Running in at $1.34 The Datasheet has the schematic in it near the end. It can be seen here: http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/92597/ROHM/BA178M00T.html Also, note that there are 2 capacitors listed too. One is a 0.33uF and one is a 0.1uF Cap. These should have a voltage rating of around 16 to 25 Volts or higher. Radio Shack should have them both. I also design and etch my own printed circuit boards if anyone is interested.... Hope this helps out for all!!! Eddie
