You, sir, are my new hero! Been looking all over creation for aftermarket rotors! Do you have any idea how hard it is to search the web for aftermarket parts for a 1980 GL1100i?? Well, I suppose you must have some inkling, else you wouldn't have created this list. In any case, thanks a million for it!

I think the rear brake pad on the 83 gl1100 and interstate should be a fa69 not a fa29. JB

Nicely done. Looks like this post needs to be moved to the new reference forum!

Wow! I just did a search for "1980 GL110i brake pads" and got this post. I thought it might be a little old, but hey, posts are kept around for a reason, and as far as I'm concerned, the info in this one is it! Old or not, Neil deserves mad props for this list!

Thought this should be added over here. Posted by Peterbylt; The thermal switch on my 81 gl1100 has been broken for some time. I dropped a couple of wires down and hardwired a toggle switch across it. $80 or $90 dollars for the replacement switch seemed a little excessive. I read on the nakedwings board that a thermal switch out of a 94 Geo Metro 1.0L was the right thread and temp so I went to Advance auto parts and bought one for $16.95. The switch did not have the protruding extension on the inside and had different connectors but it did have the correct threads and screwed right in. I made some little connector wire adapters so I would not have to cut the original wiring harness and I wanted to keep the bypass switch. The switch works like a champ and comes on when it should and shuts off when it should. ![]()
