Yesterday I took some old chrome parts that I had taken off to a chrome shop here, I know this may or may not fit here but I was totally impressed with the end results of their work, I felt that a Good chrome shop might fit. If not delete this post.

The name of the shop is Superior Chrome Plating, address is 242 Mc Carty Dr. Houston Texas 77029. phone # 713-671-0100 and web site is http://www.justchromeit.com.

They do mostly antique, and classic car chroming, but while I was there to drop my stuff, I saw several motorcycle pieces and parts that had been chromed. According to their web site they do ship and give free quotes.

Working on the carbs of my '83 interstate, I messed up a few intake orings. My local NAPA dealer had a metric oring assortment and sold me the ones that fit the bike for .78 cents each. Saved me some money.

I've used OZ Powersports in Ottawa, KS.  They have acres of bikes of most labels & types.

They also have an online order form, catalogue, & toll free phone.

Their prices are decent and they can also provide new parts and warehoused used parts.

The site is worth a look. http://www.ozpowersports.com/

For accurate info, speak with Brad.

I haven't had dealings with this place yet, but friends have mentioned them at times.  I would stop in or call them if eBay ever lets me down in a time of need...:waving:

http://www.cyclesalvage.net/

I think the name is Wisconsin Cycle Salvage, and they are about 20 miles from me here.

I skimmed through the thread, but didn't see this place:

http://www.crescentmooncycles.com/

I've bought a few things from Frenchy.  He and the wife run a good, honest business up in Michigan.  I'd recommend 'em (for what it's worth) :waving:

(Edited because Firefox doesn't like the hyperlink coding apparently)

Good Morning Wexman,

Here, being Gig harbor Washington USA, we have a site called Craigslist.org, most of the time you can find a GL1100 used between 500.00 and 800.00 dollars.  Parts are getting so high  my question is  why not buy the whole bike?  I'm such a winger nut I'd probably would end up with two wings, not being able two put the project bike to sleep.  Just a thought, I'll stop boring you to tears, J-Bobber

We "were" looking for a good used engine for our wing but finally decided to rebuild the old one.We did however see a very clean, reportedly in excellent condition motor at usedgoldwingparts ...eng86...His site says he ships but when informed that we were in Canada he told us that he didnt want to ship it there.Too much hassel. He would however ship it to a contact near the border and I could take it across. RED FLAG,RED FLAG!!! When I emailed him asking for the block nunber so I could preclear it with Canada Custom's  . He emailed me back informing me that he had just sold this particular motor. Was this a known STOLEN motor. You be the judge.:X

Link in my signatrue is my search page.  I found an error in the GL1500 links and they've been fixed.  So they work much better.

I just got a price for a new MAC replacement exhaust complete with taxes and shipping (no shipping fee) from my local bike shop for US$450.00. The website you show has the exact same thing for $499.00 plus tax and shipping. Buy local if you can...

Wierd thing is, that address is about a block and a half from my house.  I have never seen a sign of them there.  Anyone else been there?   They are/have been based out of Florida if you read the site carefully but....  ain't seen 'em here yet.
