Wow now that is interesting.  I just found out that Baby came from the Marysville plant.  I was told that she was a Canadian bike.  When I checked my cage it said was a Canadian import but no such wording for Baby. Thanks for the LINK. Angela.:waving::waving::waving::clapper::clapper::clapper::waving::waving::waving::clapper::clapper::clapper::cooldevil::cooldevil::cooldevil::cooldevil::cooldevil:

Yep, mine says "DECODED" as well... 3 years ago, when I went to insure it, I had to pay double because agent says it had been totaled or rebuilt ?   :(

That was way cool, thanks for the thread, good info.

Mine was made in Ohio in 1982, it really is an 1100, but it said because it is brown/gold it was faster than a RED 1800

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to reply to say that the link in the original post no longer works. The reason I choose to do so is that when searching Google for, "GL1100 Vin Code," this thread comes up as the number two hit, so I'm sure others are finding it too. Does anyone know of another free place to do this?

Johnny
