I've seen questions about doing this, so when I swapped my rear wheel recently I decided to set up the video camera and record it. I have reduced the size as much as I feel is possible without destroying the training quality. Still ~18 MB, but with cable modem or DSL it should be a quick download (I don't do YouTube). Only ~7 minutes of run time, but that is about all it took! BTW, you do have to loosen the lug nuts before and tighten (80 ft lbs) after this! Here 'tis: http://home.comcast.net/~pidjones/t2.wmv I hope it helps a few!

Fantastic and ingenious. Raises the comfort factor greatly. Don't know about the picking it back up part yet. still need a few more bowls of Wheaties. Is this similar on all of the GW series or specific just to the 1800's/

Well Done, If only the 1500 did the same, instead of a back end dismantle.

That's pretty neat! Great video, too. This should help others to "lay it down" to do rear wheel maintenance. The Yamaha dealer told me a wing owner brought his wing in for rear tire replacement and when told there was no one to remove the rear wheel asked for a piece of cardboard. Said wing owner flopped it down right there in front of the shop to remove the wheel. I thought to myself, yeah right! Must have been a real POS wing. I think you may have given me an attitude adjustment. Thanks. Terry

That's brilliant. I'll move this to the reference forum in a day or so once a few more people have seen it here first.

If you put it into gear first, the bike won't roll around with you as you are putting it down and up.

I'll admit, I held my breath a couple times when the bike went fully over and again when you were putting it back on the sidestand with it in neutral.
