St. Patrick's Day Parade, 2005.
Dubliner John Murphy gathered together about 24 Goldwing owners and their machines to take part in the main 2005 Dublin parade. After a cloudy start to the day with the threat of rain, by the time we met at the Parkgate Street entrance to the Phoenix Park the sun was beaming down. Very unusual for three St. Patricks Days on the trot to have great weather like this. The Goldwings were about second from the end of the parade this year, the Volkswagen Beetles were in front of us. The day went very well as usual. For the first time ever, the parade was routed from the northside of Dublin to the southside.

We all met at around 11am (pictures above) on the morning and spent about 30 minutes putting decorations on the Goldwings.
Then it was into Dominic Street, which was the staging point. More time getting ready and fiddling about (above).
Off into the procession at around 1pm. Sweat rolling down my face and fingers on my left hand tingling from feathering the clutch on the Goldwing for almost an hour as we trundled along at walking pace.
As we got to the end of the parade, the children queued to have their parents take photos of them on the Goldwings (above). Then we all headed off to the Red Cow on the Naas Road for lunch.
