New from Ohio

Just traded my 09' VStar 950 Tourer for a 95' GL1500A. Looks as though it may have been in a flood, but a title search came up with nothing. Sadly, Ohio has a bad habit of NOT putting previous ownership on titles.

So far (due to NO maintenance history), I've replaced the brakes, tires, timing belts, alternator AND battery.

Seems like you have things under control. If you have questions, we have some pretty knowledgeable folks on the forum...

...and a couple of pretty stupid guys, too.

Why ain't we ridin'?

Welcome,

When you say flood, does it look like it was underwater

Only a biker knows why a dog puts his head out of a window of a moving vehicle.

If you haven't already, it would be good to replace the air and fuel filters. Welcome to a great group!

Yeah, looks like it's been under water. Lots of sediment EVERYWHERE. It's under every panel, in the saddle bags, and the trunk. The only place I haven't seen it (and only because I haven't taken it that far apart yet) is behind the dash. It was even in the tank (I just replaced the fuel pump and low fuel sensor).

Yeah, fuel filter done, just need to pick up an air filter. Need to take the bike back apart to change some bulbs in the dash, so I plan on doing that then.

Thanks, been on here quite a bit since I picked it up. Wish there was this much info on forums for my Ford Ranger.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Have you changed the engine oil, final drive oil and all the other fluids?

Thanks! I've only done the engine oil and fuel filters so far. along with rebuilding the petcock. I'll be working on everything else as money comes in. The air filter next and then maybe the coolant. the brake/clutch site glass needs replaced (pretty frosted over).
