Hello Goldwing riders. I live in San Diego County in Southern California. I have been riding a 2004 GL1800 for the last 7 years an have put 75,000 miles on it in that time. Lots of touring. Bought it with just 2,600 miles. It has been a great bike.
My question- what should I expect to see for compression tests. I’m getting fairly uniform 180 psi across all 6 cylinders. Clymer manual says it should be 201 psi. Is this normal wear for my current mileage?

Did you do the test with the motor warm and the throttle wide open?

Mostly you should be concerned with consistency of the numbers.

Please fill in your profile...Thank you.

Well, no. I did not open the throttle. I suppose that would make a difference with the throttle body open. Maybe I should retest?
