Hi All,

Just joined because this site helped me to solve an issue I have been struggling with for a long time.

I replaced the timing belts on my 1500 before a 7k mile trip to AK, and at the end of the trip, it developed a weird noise, that I thought was either the water pump or timing belt tensioners. I replaced the tensioners, which made no difference.

Then I came upon a thread in this forum, and it is the exact sound I have. Can't post links since I'm new, but the title contains: gl1500-odd-engine-noise-solved.

Must have bent the pulley guides when I changed the belts, and it took many miles to wear through the rubber to start making noise.

Ordered new guides, pulse rotor, and new belts. Have a 3k mile trip planned next month.

Thanks!
