erwjww and I are planning to meet up at Montauk State Park, Salem, MO on 8th, camping there over night and riding into Eureka Springs, AR on 9th.

That's the plan now if nothing changes before then

All welcome to join us if your riding in a day early and near enough the area to pop in.

This would make a nice ride into ES of about 200 miles/4 hours from Montauk, or more if we take some other roads having fun.

Looking at the map I know some of the roads, some I don't, so I think I shall go scouting the area and see what I find for fun back roads.

Coming through MO on back roads be aware many or most County Roads are dirt roads, at least around my area.

Are you following that route for any reason?

Rolla, MO is about 60 miles before Lebanon, MO, and Salem, MO is about 26-30 miles south of Rolla, MO.
So you could probably get to us about 30 miles sooner LOL

I'm just going with the flow and don't know yet what roads we will ride from Salem to ES yet. What ever roads erwjww wants to ride.
I'm thinking some nice little roads, most of which I know are nice riding roads but a few I plan to get out and ride ahead of time I've not been on yet.

If the map works, something like this maybe. It includes the free Ferry south of Protem, MO which is part of one of the mapped rides.

Changed link.

I know all the roads except the 181 from Cabool, MO, to Gainsville, MO which is about 60 miles and plan to scout 181 soon.

There is a big time difference in routes,

Rolla to ES by I44 and 65 is about 195 mi, 3 hours 32 mins
http://goo.gl/maps/aDh5

Rolla to Salem and back roads to ES is 255 mi, 5 hours 54 mins
http://goo.gl/maps/a6gB

From Salem for us to ES on back roads is 227 mi, 5 hours 16 mins
http://goo.gl/maps/CH3u

Or Salem to ROLLA and to ES by way of I44 and 65 would be 221 mi, 4 hours 9 mins
http://goo.gl/maps/xyM5

Of course that is all by Google guessing and does not take into account weather or any farm equipment or slow 4 wheelers we may get stuck behind. Or a little time to wait for the Ferry on the back road route.

But you'll miss all the deer and raccoons and possums and bats!
And other interesting stuff.

OH, ya, don't forget now, you'll have extra time when you get there, your staying in a hotel so don't have to set up camp this time.

Ya..He is a real wimp ya know....

We own a 2007 Goldwing with 65,000 KM ( 39,000 Mi. ) on it.

The best part about owning a wing is you know what your next bike is going to be. ( We know, we just bought our 3rd Goldwing )

I will be assisting a friend in an experiment and we have some equipment to set up.

I'll let him chime in when he figures it's time/safe to let y'all know what's going on. If it is pulled off like we think it will, it'll be a new 1st for a NASSIR event.

As for twisty roads and my age .... it's all a matter of 'Public Record'. I've nothing to hide, or 'prove/disprove'.

Ya want to ride with me, you better be able to keep up in the corners.

Anyone can go fast down the straights!
