Thanks.

Having the directions for the rides and roads is good. I can look things up and look at the roads now to see where they go.

I never use my CB's so don't have any type of mikes for mine either.

I been to Telico once a couple years ago. Not sure what roads we rode then, got to the Deals gap store somehow but not the dragon, I think we passed a big dam also.
Should be interesting try to look at the roads on Google or MapQuest for the area.

Bernie, I have a CB and I would love to lead the ride on the Cherohala and Dragon route. Im not spirited rider but have riden that area enough to know some good meeting places on the route to regroup. That way the spirited riders can ride their ride and the slower riders that enjoy the view can ride their ride.

Chromo, you'd be comfortable on this ride as there is only one section of road that we would all have to maintain a slower speed limit and stay together for the most part (Traffic lights etc...), the rest is mostly curvy with no way out except over the edge or at the end where we all meet up.

The Cherohala/Dragon ride is a route that I had already planned to do. I have ridden the Dragon both ways but have only ridden the Cherohala and foothills the opposite of what this ride planned to do. I would also like to be sure to stop at the waterfalls off the Cherohala.

I will wait to see how many are planning to go on this ride before I sign on for a group ride, perhaps we could plan the ride to be done on Wednesday and Thursday so it could be done with smaller groups. There may be others that can lead out on opposite days. I am also one who would prefer to be a group of about 6 bikes.

Doug, On Thursday, Im not planning on going on that ride unless Dubs needs me to, if thats the case then maybe a a handful of us could ride out that way. I know of the falls you speak of, and someday want to complete that ride through the woods on that road instead of turning around and heading back. I was told by locals that it does go through, but I didn't have a clear understanding of were it comes out. It's not on the local maps of the area, just shows the road going in a few miles and stopping.

Bernie, about the Tuesday and Wednesday rides.. Are we gonna be back around 5:00 pm or so? The reason I'm asking is I'm gonna volunteer for the 5-10 shift on the Welcome table those 2 days so I can make the rides..

Thanks!!

Everyone, First. Bald River Falls can be included on the Cherohala/Dragon ride. That is an easy addition. Second. Jobe05 (John) I welcome your help with open arms! If you would lead the Clingman's Dome and the Maggie Valley Rides I would be most appreciative! However, if you have a group that wants you to take them somewhere we don't get to visit your help would be needed there. Third. Rosco. How do you hear on the car CB you are using? I could spring for a cheap CB and antennae just in case. But on Wednesday I really need to stay at Fontana to set up some riding exercises! You guys do not know how much I appreciate your volunteering to help us!

Jobe05, What morning are you planning to fix pancakes? Do you have a specific campsite? I bet Mel and Sandi would let us use theirs! What do I need to bring to the party? If you fix everyone's breakfast, you and your wife really need to attend the dinner with everyone! I would be honored to have you with us!

Well,, I was gonna say with my ears but I don't think that's the answer you want... Actually at the speeds we're gonna be riding at: 35-45mph, it's fairly easy to hear what's being said over the stock speaker, Anymore than that though and it becomes a problem and I would need an external speaker mounted on the dash....

Hmmm... I just had a thought.. If I can get a mini jack headphone splitter so's I can hook the CB output and my MP3 player output into the FM modulator, I can have a louder CB AND my music over my stock stereo!!

Thanks Bernie!! You're a Genius!! Time for a trip to Radio Shack!!!!

I am working on the plans for breakfast as we speak. I'll get a posting up within the next day or 2 with the details.

Im not familiar with the Clingmans Dome ride, But I can find a map and find it. If you have a route planned to get there, just PM it or email it to me and I'll do it.

Almost forgot, Don, the rides are planned to be back in time for everyone to relax a little before evening, socialize etc!

Halfling has offered his campsite to do the pancake breakfast at. This is sounding better and better! Did I mention I love link sausage with pancakes? I can bring those and regular sausage patties if it sounds good.

Jobe05, please don't burn the pancakes!!!!!!!!
