Post yes yes yes it works!!

fired her up a few hours ago for the first time,,,she PURRRRRRRRRRS!!!Solex pict3/30 mated on top of factory 78/carbs plenum i had laying around ,gutted carbs, butterfly shafts replaced with steel 3/8 fuel line between the stockrunners so carb bodies can feed off each other helping evening out the mixture,2/4cyl intakesfeed each other 1/3cyl intakes feed off each other, sticking with thealuminum runners will heat better, another big plus is themeshed screen that Honda put in the plenum as i think it atomizes the fuel betterand itdoes its originaljob to protect it from a dropped debri that might fall in,,,the trick to gutting the carbs is isolating the top cap volume of each body as its wasted space you don't need, cut out some sheetmetal to fill in under the cap and used gasket paper as the final seal for the cap area,,all the main jets tapped/plugged from the bottem with tiny bolts anda little JB weld, its time consuming but well worth it im super happy, i'll try to load the some pics up tomorrow, oop the wings an 80 not a 81 oh theyre the same basicaly

very interesting method.. I have a very worthless set of 1100 carb bodies (looks like they were underwater for some time)that I could never throw away.. maybe they can be useful...

the 80's,plenum should work also, using the rubber gasket that came withoriginal airbox as the seal under the 1/4 alumunum plate i made works perfect no leaks,,,,still havn't taken it out on the road as i have no tires yet as i painted the rims mettalic silver will get her some shinkos 230s, she revs fine don't know what size jet i have in the solex i think its a 127?the solex is a very simple carb have a pict2 also as a back up the pict3 accelerator squirter dumpsalot morefuel compared to the pict2s squirter,,,this is the first time i had her running never heard her before much quieter than my 78cb750k borrowed the same megaphone mufflers from it, so happy no knocking coming from the engine i did the belts, waterpump/ one broken valve spring that had me worried but that cylinder is fine,,drilled a few holes in the thermostat as its a good trick the btch will never get stuck closed, will route the fan manually switched

I use FSresizer. It's freeware and it works very well. No problems with it.

Good idea, Thanks.

With no God over the state, the state then becomes not the defender of liberty but the definer of liberty.
