Hi All,

My ignition switch on my 1983Aspencade GL1100 finally went out and left me stranded last week. I towed it to the Honda dealer and they have regretfully informed me that Honda has discontinued this switch and it is no longer available. They have also tried to acquire it from an after market company with no luck! This switch is different from the interstate switch. Can anyone help or suggest any options.

Thanks for the help,

Wingin It Gene

This is bad news. Especially since I also have an 83 Aspencade!

Try Ebay. Maybe I'll start looking for one also.

Get in touch with Barracuda at http://www.barracudabikeparts.com/index.htm

They were promising tostart producingthe Aspencade ignition switch last year, so contact them on the site and see if they can oblige.

Old Bike Barn has them listed for 1980-83. Doesn't say if they are for Interstate or Aspencade, you can see the description here;

If you draw a blank on this, why not give yours to a locksmith, they can usually repair them.

He also¬* re -keyed my saddle bags locks on my Silver Wing for $10 (8 years ago) so that all the locks were the same.... PO had purchased new locks .. and I was carrying 3 different keys..But ... getting¬* the ignition lock¬* out was a real pain.. need tiny fingers, and slim wrenches... and maybe extra vocabularly..¬*SilverDave
