Hello , It's me again. Still trying to put the factory CB on my 85 ASPY. Finally have all the components and after getting them all sorted out and powered up the CB sounds likethe conversation is off a tad. Went up and down a couple of channels to make sure someone wasn't bleeding over so that wasn't it. I know how to set the SWR on a conventional set up like the one on my truck, is there a way to tune this set up? I know the antenae has a adjustment on it and it looks like the multi changer box has one as well but what kind of meter is needed to do this. Also can the multi changer box be left out and the lines for the stereo and the CB be hooked up directly to each antenae?...Thanks

Mitch

Mitch,
Here is how to adjust the antenna:

And if you REALLY want to get into it:

Hope this helps.

Thanks Leyton, that answers the SWR adapters question for me , I am off to Radio Shack to get them. Now if someone could tell me about hooking up the antenae without using the multichanger box I might be set. I have the box just wondering if you could connect each antenae directly to the source and get the same results.

Thanks Again

Mitch

You should be able to do that, the AM/FM won't care. Might need to keep the diplexer box in the CB circuit if there's no other way to tune the VSWR without it.
