I removed the allen bolt at the bottom of the fork in preparation for replacing the fork seal. There was no washer on the bolt as shown in the service manual. I have looked all around the area where I was working ( just incase it was stuck and dropped later ). It is my story that the previous person must have left it out and I am sticking to that story.

I have looked at http://www.bikebandit.com at http://hondapartsdirect.reachlocal.net for the washer. Both those sites seem to use the same parts list / breakdown, and I do not see the bolt / washer shown for a 1984 GL1200A.

Anyone have any idea where i can find a replacement?

There should be a sealing washer. Honda direct line shows one for the '84 Aspy browse to the fische for the '84 Aspencade and look at item #60 on the front fork listing. That's your sealing washer. When you reinstall it the book calls for a dab of Blue Loctite. Don't use a lot of it, just a dot or two on a couple of the bottom threads of the bolt is enough.

I looked at that fiche for at least 20 minutes trying to figure that out. After reading your note it was obvious.

I think I am having far too many senior moments these days.

Thanks a million.
