Thanks. Mine: left coil for 2 rear cylinders, right for 2 front ones.

I have 3 manuals and cannot find it. Found it for 85 L but it could be different.

Here is odd problem: resistance between wires is OK about 23KOm. +connector attached to each coil and has 12V. I touch another connector with grounded wire but there is no spark...

I have found firing order: 1-3-2-4. That means coils have to work for 1,2 and another one for 3,4.

Now I need wire colors to coils.

I have to stop buying dead old Wings...

ignition switch for $8, solenoid for $10, fuel pump for $30 still work fine!

Newbiker, I don't have the info you want but Honda is good about using the same wire colors for the same things on different models and years so if you have info for an 85 it should work.

If you download the workshop manual from the thread at the top of the tech forum, you will be able to get the colours from the wiring diagram.

I have mine out and in my hands from an 82 interstate but i think it's the same set up for 83.

The 1/2 coil has a black /yellow and a black braided wire hooked to the right side tab. The blk/yl goes to the right tab on the other 3/4 coil and the black braided goes to the white baluster thing on the right side. The left tab on 1/2 coil has a yellow wire that goes to the white 4 pin connector. The 3/4 coil has blk/yl wire from the 1/2 coil on the right side tab and the left side tab has a blue wire going to the 4 pin connector.

The left side of the baluster has the black braided wire coming out of it and going to the 4 pin connector.

If you hold the four pin with the locking loop up ..the top right pin is the blue wire, the top left is the black braided from the baluster and the bottom left is the yellow the bottom right is open.

Hope that all makes sense.
