Ok First off. I want to Thank Everyone who has responded to my other posts and that have helped me getting thru some pain in the butt issues....

Now on to the new one, after spending a good 6 hrs on Fixing the Stator Wire issue, then the Starter Soleniod Fuse fix ... I found that my Starter Button is not working and im still not charging, though i think that might be a toast battery.

So I got the jumpers on the bike, get it running let it warm up. Then i shut it down to open the tank area and went to restart it and found that the button wouldnt even give me a click... If i take a screw driver and tap the poles on the soleniod it would crank when hooked to a jump battery...

I have checked and rechecked all the fuses, the dogbone has been changed to a blade 30amp fuse and the 2 red wires tied in to it.

I get all the lights and even the green neutral light.

Also I am only charging at 13-14volts... is that normal???

Thanks for any input or suggestions?

Also i have searched the board pretty well but i may have missed something ...

Thanks!!!

14 volts is a good charge voltage for a 12 volt battery. Sounds like you may have two issues. A bad battery and possibly your starter button is bad/dirty. Do the headlights go out when you push the start button? They should.

I would start by getting a new battery and then troubleshoot the starter button problem then. It is very hard to fix a problem when you have several at the same time. Fix one at a time...

thanks for the Reply, The battery is new, im hoping that it didnt get toasted with all the stuff going on with the bike.

Im going to check the Starter Button today, going to take it apart and clean it then im going to recheck the Connections at the relay and if needed rebuild those...

also going to see if Auto Zone can check the battery for me, if its bad looks like im taking an hr drive down to Millstone to swap it out...

did the starter button work ok before you started working on it, and did you cut the wires of the plug at the top of the solenoid, if you did that you just may have wired it back wrong

Well...

Lets just say, its always good to double and triple check ur connections...

I had left the cables a little long when i was working on the relay... so when i stuffed them into the crevice i must have pulled something... goes to show dont stuff things when its running...

I re-checked all of my relay connections and it appears the connectors i used failed when they got pulled on. So I re-did the Yellow/red and Green/Red and used a new crimp tool...

Bam it click... battery is a little low, just got off the phone with Autozone and they are going to check it for me and give it a charge... it's a maintence free that is less then a month old so heres hoping...

Thanks to Everyone who replied, its greatly GREATLY appreciated...

Ill post again after the battery has been checked....

Well, after close to 8 solid hrs of wrenching, and 4 trips to autozone... I think for today Im done...

Things accomplished today:

1: Fixed Starter Issue

2: Double Checked all connections, re-crimped everything and re-taped

3: Changed Spark plugs

4: Changed Fuel Filter

5: Changed out aux driving lights

6: fixed and re-wired fan ( its still on a switch but now has a relay and safer location)

7: Cleaned Air Filter

Now I have to start new post after researching some other issue i found while taking her for a 5 mile tour.....

Thanks again for everyones input and replys....
