First start is great but i can go for a ride say 10 to 15 mile then stop for 15 to 30 min. and get back on the bike to go but i need to give it gas to start up again. One dealer says that is normal for the wing but i really dont think so. Do any one out there have the same problem or the fix for it. ??

Not normal for my 1500. I had an old motorhome with that problem. It turned out to be a check valve in the fuel system not keeping fuel in the line once you shut it off. I have no idea what your problem could be, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to help.

The dealer that told you it was normal is just trying to get rid of you and your problem.
It's not normal but at least it starts. Giving this problem to a shop could result in a sizable diagnosis bill with a minor bill for part replacement.
If you have the service manual you can work your way through some of the diagnosis when the engine is hard to start. Or live with it until it won't start and then the diagnosis will be easier. Shops don't like to have to diagnosis problems that only occur sometimes... like when I had a customer that said it (their particular problem) only occured after 75 mile travel... and expected me to ride their bike for 75 miles to test it. When I told them that I'd charge them for the time I was riding their bike OR they could ride it and bring it in so I could test it... Almost every time they'd want to ride the bike themselves... which was fine with me. I could always find something to do for a couple of hours while Joe the biker was out riding his bike.

I do not know how you would normally first start the engine. "When you give it gas" are you referring to the choke or twisting the throttle?

I always choke mine depending on the temperature for initial start up.If it is really warm, Imay just give the throttle a couple of twists for the accelerator pump. If the engine stumbles after start up, I just keep the choke on a littlelonger.

Upon restarts and provided the engine is slightly warm, my choke is not needed.

On restarts, if you are "giving it gas" byopening the throttle, you may have a leaking needle and seat. Opening the throttle would give it more air to lean the extra fuel upon startup - flooded.

You may want to use SeaFoam, check idle speed, and check carb sync.

just for giggles, check your vacuum line going to the carbs. See if its tight & look for cracks.

or go for a ride & come back home. remove your air cleaner so you can look into the plenem & check for raw fuel there.

un screw your plug boots & check the wire core in the ends of the wires for corrosion. You can trim them back slightly to expose clean wire & re twist your boots on.

If ya cant fix it with a hammer, it's prolly lectrical
