Does anyone know how the trim piece in front of the windshield comes off? It's an 1990 1500.

yes it does!!!!

1. flip the shield adjust levers about 1/2 way up
2.Pull the mirror rubber back from the fairing-it can be pulled bac till it about doubles backover the mirrors

3.There are 2 phillps type screw that you can now reach- they move withe the shield adjust levers- remove the screw

4. tilt the piece forward and then lift up.

With practice takes about 3 minutes or less.

Great Tip, Big John. Until now I have always removed the mirrors but next time I will try your method... Thanks
