hi peoples . I have a 83 1100a with 80 k . It has been rode hard &put away wet . I must thank you for letting me join, with your help i can keep it on the road . My question is how do you measure the front rotors for thickness? Rather be safe than sorry. Any help would be apprecated.wayne

Measure the thickness right across and including the vented part.

Thanks FitzAl For the help . The p. o. did nothing for maintence. I just got the bike ,change all fluids. Checking the rest of the bike over.

Minimum thickness should be stamped in the rotor. You need ten thousands of an inch more than that to turn them. If you have any nasty grooves, you will need more room. If you buy replacement rotors make sure they have holes in the brake surface area for water displacement.

If ya cant fix it with a hammer, it's prolly lectrical
