I can get my hands on a Japinese band radio for my 2002 1800 for 165.00. I was wandering is it possible to change the freq. to USA standards.

Not knowing the radio itself, but I suspect that you would need to find the eprom from a US spec radio. That would be what tells the frequency synthesizer what frequency, and what steps to tune to.

That is going to be hard to do, as they won't sell you inside parts for the radio.

you can use a band expander .they are easy to install and only cost a few dollars and they work perfectly ,you can find them on ebay ,

just look for FM radio band expander .. they are around $8 ,Ciaran
