Is there a digital indicator/readout (other than the 'Reverse' and 'Neutral' indicator Lights) on the 2006-2009 GL1800's (similar to the one on the 85 GL1200 'Limited Edition') that shows what gear you are in?

If not, are there 'after-market' ones available and, if so, WHERE?

When I first got my 1500 after having an '86SEi I really missed the gear indicator and was thinking of adding one. After a couple months riding the 1500 I discovered I really didn't need one. It doesn't take long before you notice the relationship of the tach and speedo needles. On the 1500 when in fifth gear the tach needle points lower on the scale than the speedo at any speed. In fourth gear the two needles are almost parallel and in third the tach needle is higher than the speedometer on the scale. In second the tach is about twice as high as the speedo. In first gear you know where you are due to the high revs. The only thing the indicator would be good for is to prevent you from stopping in a higher gear and stalling when the light goes green. You don't need an indicator for that, do it a couple times and you won't forget again due to the embarrassment.
