I know there is a thread on bringing back old wings to life, step by step. Have ben
searching but cant find it.Can someone tell me where to look.THANKS DAN

Here is the procedure from Randakks, it is for GL1000s but most applies to any bike.

One important thing is to turn the engine over by hand before trying the starter if it's been sitting for a long time. There's always the chance a valve stem rusted and will stick in the guide. If that happens a piston could contact the valve and bend the stem if the engine is turned quickly as it does with the starter.

Thats a real good point !Already bent one valve when first got bike. Before I found this site.
