Hi all. I own a gl1100 and also just got a 1988 gl1500 with 62000 miles at a really good price. The old guy who had it since new had a stroke and can't ride any more.
This 1500 needs a few scratches sprayed, the beige color is easy to match and I work in a body shop so that isn't a biggie. It will need brake pads and fluid changed and I can can take care of that.
I am a bit concerned about timing belts, the PO never had them replaced and 22 years is probably pushing it. I've read a lot here about gl1100 maintenance and thank you for that. Is there any posts that help with changing the belts on a gl1500? if its staring me in the face I apologize, this forum is huge and starting out looking for gl1500 info will take me a while to get used to.
